Arburg kept it simple yet effective, when it introduced its freeformer additive manufacturing system to North America at NPE2015: A woman and a saxophone, which she played quite well, sharing the spotlight with the equally sleek and elegant machine.
As Clare Goldsberry noted in a blog during the event, the freeformer "offers users the opportunity to create fully functional parts immediately, making prototyping obsolete. It also offers users the freedom to meet demand for small batches and to use traditional resins, which makes it cost effective, as well.Another advantage, which moldmakers might find a bit disconcerting, is that it produces prototype parts without a mold."
