Cylinder printing in five colors

A new cylindrical part printing system is capable of accepting rigid cylindrical parts ranging from .32 to 12.70 cm in diameter and parts as small as .64 to 45.70 cm. The C-400 is capable of feeding, printing up to five colors, and drying parts at speeds up to 400 parts/min. It can accept rigid cylindrical products that are self-supporting, such as dowels, pens, caulking tubes, golf tees, and much more.

Most any substrate can be printed; however, certain products require pretreating to aid in ink adhesion. Pick-and-place units, chutes, bowl feeds, and hoppers are available for automation. The ink drying and curing system incorporated on the machine uses forced air and ultraviolet light. The manufacturer also supplies equipment and raw photopolymer material to manufacture printing plates. The printer ranges from $80,000 to $140,000 depending on the number of colors and the product being printed.
