Global life sciences and materials company DSM (Geleen, Netherlands) will officially open its new Research and Technology Center at the Chemelot campus in Geleen next month.

DSM EU R&T center"It's one more way of showing our commitment to the European marketplace," Sander Brakel, European Sales Manager, told PlasticsToday from the show floor of Fakuma, which is being held in Friedrichshafen, Germany, this week. "The site brings together the research and technology, sales, and marketing teams in one place. It is equipped with sample lines, test equipment, lab space, and so forth. The center will be a platform where we can show customers the full scope of our capabilities," says Brakel.

The Chemelot campus in the south of the Netherlands is home to a number of companies committed to the idea of accelerating innovation and developing new products in a collaborative environment.

Notwithstanding its research facilities in Asia and the United States, the new R&T center will be one of the most important engineering plastics R&D venues for DSM, says the company.
