E-shots Web-exclusive: SPI’s new structure, management

It's being called a “realignment” that places greater emphasis on the main sectors of the plastics industry: equipment, material suppliers, and processors. “We needed to simplify and streamline our structure to closely align our staff with our three governance councils,” says SPI president and CEO William Carteaux of the group's announcement of three new VPs and a new membership framework. Here are the players:

  • Walt Bishop: VP, Equipment Council; formerly VP of trade shows; with SPI since 1985

  • Lynne Harris: VP, Material Suppliers Council; also senior VP of science and technology; with SPI since 1980

  • Susan Howe: VP, Processors Council; previously senior technical director, worker and product safety; executive director, color and additive compounders division; and executive director, food, drug, and cosmetic packaging materials committee; with SPI since 1993

Replacing Walt Bishop as VP of trade shows is Gene Sanders, formerly of C4-Events.
