Article-E-shots Web-exclusive: Treasury Secretary visits Atlas

As an exporting company to 65 countries, Atlas Material Testing Technology (Chicago, IL; www.atlas-mts.com) had the opportunity to play host to U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr. on Sept. 14. Paulson held a press conference to discuss the importance of trade and investment for U.S. job creation and economic growth. “Globalization is here to stay and it's important that we continue to benefit from it rather than retreat into isolationism,” he said, and noted that there is a “rising protectionist sentiment in the U.S. and around the world.” His goal was to promote the passing of four pending Free Trade Agreements with Colombia, Panama, Peru, and South Korea (Atlas exports to these countries).
