Economic toggle machines

The stateside rep for 20-year-old Korean pressmaker Woojin Machinery Co. Ltd. must have used a crystal ball when it selected Plastec West earlier this year for its client?s U.S. debut. A 165-ton model in its Selex-E series of toggles was a highlight of Woojin?s display.

Its general purpose E Series machines are designed for energy efficiency and are equally friendly when it comes to cost. The 165-ton unit is priced at $59,000. A 130-ton model in its Selex-MS series of accumulator-equipped closed loop presses for high-speed thin-walling also was exhibited. Cost for that machine is $69,000. Woojin reportedly builds 80 machines per month in Inchon, from 27 to 1750 tons, including two-platen and all-electric models. Woojin is represented in the U.S. by Unitec Plastics Machinery.
