Elasto Sweden is building a new production line for its medical-grade thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) at its facility in Åmål, Sweden. Part of the Hexpol TPE group (Eupen, Belgium), Elasto plans to invest in high-quality twin screw technology, advanced raw material controls, and supporting auxiliary and testing equipment. The new line is expected to come on stream in 2015.

ELASTO_Sweden-250.jpgElasto Sweden specialises in the conception, formulation, and production of tailored TPE compounds based on styrenic block copolymers. The company has a strong presence in the medical, consumer, toy, and food markets, which have strict requirements involving production management, traceability, consistency, and cleanliness. Specialist knowledge and a deep understanding of new and emerging international regulations and quality assurance standards are also essential.

Elasto Sweden was the first TPE compounder in Europe to achieve ISO 13485 certification for the development, manufacture, marketing, and sale of TPE compounds, and the company consistently challenges itself "to operate the world's cleanest TPE factory," says Kjell Fagerström, Managing Director.

In addition to Sweden, Elasto operates facilities in the United Kingdom and China.
