Engel North America (York, PA) is hosting a complimentary single day event focused on lightweighting technology, offering molders technical presentations as well as a plant tour.

Breakthrough in Lightweighting Technologies will be held Sept. 24 in Windsor, ON, and in addition to presentations by the Fraunhofer Project Centre for Composite Research, Ticona, Trexel, and Engel, attendees can tour Montel Plastics Ltd., minutes from the Ciociaro Club presentation hall, where two Engel injection molding machines—a tie-bar-less Engel victory 1350/285 and a two-platen Engel duo 23050/2500—will be running Trexel MuCell applications.

The event also includes an on-site partner fair with exhibits from a variety of mold, raw material, and technology suppliers. Presentation topics will include: weight reduction and cost savings with strong, lightweight construction materials; maximizing the benefits provided by MuCell technology; enabling lightweighting with new injection molding technologies; and manufacturing technologies for high volume automotive applications of fiber reinforced composite materials.

Injection molders wanting more information, or seeking to register, can e-mail [email protected].
