Extrusion: American Kuhne moves to new facility

After 11 years and shipment of more than 1000 extruders, single-screw extruder manufacturer American Kuhne (www.americankuhne.com) recently completed the relocation of its sales, engineering, manufacturing, and extrusion laboratory to its new location in Ashaway, RI.

In addition to the improved efficiencies of the new facility, the new Rhode Island location reduces the average commuting time and distance by 2/3 for the vast majority of employees who live in the Pawcatuck/Westerly area. To facilitate customer visits, travel time from the Providence, RI airport has also been cut in half to less than 30 minutes.

The firm is planning an open house in September (dates not yet set) to welcome current and potential customers to the new facility. American Kuhne manufactures extruders sized from 1/2 through 12-inches. American Kuhne also maintains a technology exchange with Kuhne GmbH (St. Augustine, Germany), a manufacturer of sheet and blown-film systems.—[email protected]
