EcoCortec opens bioplastic and anti-corrosion film plant in Croatia

Located in Croatia’s Baranja region on a 10,000-square-meter site, the plant offers complete converting, extruding and printing capabilities.

EcoCortec has opened its first bioplastics and anticorrosion film plant in Croatia. Plant management finalized the big expansion project last year with the construction of a new facility, tripling production capacity.

EcoCortec manufactures innovative vapor-phase corrosion inhibitor (VpCI) films. Located in Croatia’s Baranja region on a 10,000-square-meter site, the plant offers complete converting, extruding and printing capabilities.

In addition to a state-of-the-art E5 extrusion line, the plant is equipped with side- and bottom-weld converting machines, a film rewinder and a recycling system. EcoCortec is committed to using environmentally safe technologies and taking a responsible approach toward the community. The company’s Eco Film and Eco Works products offer a certified biodegradable alternative to polyethylene (PE) films and bags while offering performance characteristics that, it says, are superior to both low- and high-density PE films.

EcoCortec has a history of cooperating with scientific institutions and universities as attested by new product development, research papers, and participation in and organization of scientific and educational seminars. A continuous research and innovation approach combined with ecological awareness are among the reasons that EcoCortec has become a leader in the corrosion protection industry, said the company.
