Extrusion: PE grade said to help conserve water reserves

Article-Extrusion: PE grade said to help conserve water reserves

BorSafe HE3490LS-H provides a balance of properties for pressure water pipes.

Durability of high density polyethylene (HDPE) pressure water distribution pipe systems for easy installation in tough ground bed situations is offered in BorSafe HE3490LS-H. The material has long-term performance and helps utilities eliminate leaks. Today, according to the latest United Nations figures, more than two billion people face water scarcity around the world. Pipes extruded from BorSafe are said to have good resistance to slow crack propagation. This problem is often caused by surface scratches and notches created prior to or during installation. It can also occur by external point loads on pipes from rocks or tree roots. This grade has passed 18,000 hr. in Notch Pipe Tests, 100 times more than is required by European standards for PE drinking water pipe systems. This multi-modal produced polymer has a tailored molecular structure to provide a balance between processability and mechanical strength.
