Fast-access feeder

A more modular new design for the more affordable MGF Series gravimetric feeder from Maguire Products Inc. (Aston, PA) has the hopper, and only the hopper, mounted on the feeding system’s load cell, providing fast and uncomplicated access to all the feeder’s components for cleaning or servicing.

Maguire’s loss-in-weight software scans throughput data every half-second and automatically adjusts dispensing when a predetermined amount of accumulated error is detected. It was engineered in this manner to respond to real changes in throughput, rather than transitory changes caused by vibration, clumping, or surges. Metering accuracy reportedly is held to within ±0.2%.
