Fire at Industrial Plastics Recycle put out

Article-Fire at Industrial Plastics Recycle put out

A fire that started last week at Industrial Plastics Recycle, about 45 miles southwest of Nashville, TN, has been put out. The fire, which started last Wednesday, was put out by fire crews on Sunday. The facility was located at a Federal Superfund site created to clean up hazardous toxic waste from the former Wrigley Charcoal Plant.

According to an Associated Press report, the fire occurred on a portion of the primary site occupied by the recycling facility that recycles plastics and metal.  About 300 people were under evacuation orders last Thursday and nearby schools were closed. Cause of the fire is unknown, and company officials couldn't be reached for comment.
