Injection molders of connectors are offered a new choice of material with the introduction by plastics supplier Rhodia Polyamide (Lyon, France) of its flame retardant Technyl-brand polyamide 6.6 range. The Technyl range for connectors consists of filled and unfilled heat stabilized PA 6 and PA 6.6 grades. For example, Technyl A 32G1 offers a UL94 V2 rating, is antimony trioxide free (ATO free), and reaches up to 900°C on glow wire ignition tests. A second grade, Technyl A 30G1, is UL94 V0, while a third material, Technyl A 60G2 V30, is free of halogens, red phosphorus and ATO. [email protected]
