Flame retardants meet electrical, electronic regs

Rhodia Engineering Plastics has introduced a range of flame retardant polyamide resins without halogen or red phosphorous additives. These products provide environmentally improved solutions for electrical and electronic applications, meeting recently endorsed Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment European Community Directives. The line includes Technyl Star S 60G1 V30, featuring a combination of high mechanical performance, flame retardant properties and high-flow polymer base. Supporting this new compound, Rhodia developed a halogen and red phosphorous-free product range, based either on Technyl or Technyl Star polymers. The line includes Technyl B50H1, a PA66/6, UL94 V0 rated unfilled grade. Rhodia Engineering Plastics, 259 Prospect Plains Rd., CN 7500, Cranbury, NJ 08512 www.us.rhodia.com
