Help for New Zealand

Yesterday afternoon, we received a note from Bill Carteaux, president & CEO, SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association. He had been contacted by Plastics New Zealand, and apparently there's urgent need for help on the sanitation front in the aftermath of the earthquake that hit the country. Here's Carteaux's note:

"I have just been contacted by my counterpart from Plastics New Zealand with an urgent request for help locating portable toilets. Since the devastating earthquake, the public heath focus has been on clean drinking water—but sanitation remains a huge obstacle during the recovery efforts.  If you manufacture portable toilets and would have an inventory available to ship overseas, please contact me tonight <mailto:wcarteaux@plasticsindustry.org>.

I certainly appreciate your help and support for our international colleagues.

Best, Bill Carteaux, President & CEO
SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association"

The "tonight" part of the effort isn't critical, but ASAP is. If you can help, or know someone who might be able to, drop Mr. Carteaux a line. Transport options are being arranged. —John Clark
