Hot runner controller gets PC interface

Article-Hot runner controller gets PC interface

The new PCI-980 operator interface, designed for the recently introduced Orycon 980 Series hot runner controller, displays an image of the part being molded, the mold itself, and details of critical part points to help aid QC inspection. Built on the Windows98 OS, the control screen can monitor and control up to 120 zones in the 980 Series controller mainframes. The mainframes can work at different jobs and can be assigned to one press or as many as 10. Setpoint changes made directly on the 980 controller are registered on the PC screen, and changes made on the screen register on the controller displays as well. Photos of the part and mold, as well as critical areas of the part, can be imported into the PCI-980 and saved with setup information for reference. Other information and displays provided by the software include the number of parts produced, run time, downtime, total kilowatt per hour consumption, and status graphs. Look for the PCI-980 at NPE in booth S4142.
