Illinois Tool Works Acquires Hartness International

Hartness will be a wholly owned business unit of ITW and part of ITW's consumer packaging group. Hartness will maintain its brand name and operate as a separate business, as is normal in the decentralized business structure of ITW. ITW's executive VP Tim Gardner called the move an important strategic step in growing ITW's consumer packaging group.

ITW supplies a broad and diversified range of short lead-time, value-adding industrial products and equipment through its 895 business units operating in 54 countries and employing about 59,000 people.
