He’s ba-a-a-c-c-k! Just a few short months after John Blundy announced his retirement from the hot runner industry, which included a farewell appearance at NPE, an opportunity came along that Blundy said he couldn’t pass up. HRS-Flow Hot Runner Systems announced the appointment of plastics industry veteran Blundy as President of their North American company located in Grand Rapids, MI.

JBphoto_1.jpgBlundy had made the decision earlier in the year to retire, however, “Once I learned the full scope of the company’s planned growth, not only for the North American market but globally as well, the opportunity presented to me was too exciting to pass up,” Blundy commented.

HRS-Flow first entered the North American market several years ago by establishing a technical service and parts center in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.  The new Grand Rapids manufacturing facility is scheduled for its Grand opening in September and is a duplicate of the company’s existing European and China facilities.

“The facility is being equipped with state-of-the-art automated machining centers to meet the demands of our North American customers now and into the future,” Blundy said. “The company ownership has a strong commitment to customer service, technology and innovation. The establishment of the Grand Rapids manufacturing center is a testament to that dedication. We look forward to being a part of our customers’ success.”

Blundy can be reached at [email protected].
