Injection molding: MPC acquires trio of competitors

Injection molder/contract manufacturer Midwest Plastic Components (MPC; Minneapolis, MN), recently completed its third purchase in the past months, enabling it to extend the breadth of products it offers as well as its geographical footprint. The three injection molders it acquired are Peerless Molding (Gardena, CA), Dynacept Corp. (Brewster, NY), and Spectrum Plastics (Ansonia, CT). The purchases all took place in the space of four months: Peerless and Dynacept both on Dec. 18, 2007, and Spectrum Plastics on Feb. 19, 2008.

Peerless continues to do business under its established name. “Peerless Molding offers customers manufacturing in the California market with a highly experienced staff and facility,” states Peter Thompson, CEO of Midwest Plastic Components. Dynacept Corp. will operate as a division of Midwest Plastic Components. Dynacept brings rapid prototyping expertise to Midwest Plastic Components’ portfolio. Spectrum, the most recent acquisition, brings a footprint in the Northeast.—[email protected]
