30-Ton Insert Molder Is'Workhorse' But WithSophisticated Controls

Gluco is offering a new 30-ton insert injection molding machine, claiming it to be an economical, heavy-duty workhorse with 'high-end' controls for precision operation. Prices start at $48,000.

The machine comes with an Allen-Bradley SLC 50/4P processor and Gluco's Proset 200 injection molding machine control package. The Parker hydraulics package comes with dedicated proportional valves for both pressure and velocity, thus allowing for more detail on the injection profile.

The company says it uses standard 'off-the-shelf' components for electrics and hydraulics. Platens measure 12 x 12 in. and the 3-oz vertical or horizontal injection unit is said to provide for versatility in molding a wide range of products.
