Returning as an in-person event while retaining a virtual component, SPE’s ANTEC 2022 will co-locate with Plastec South, part of the IM Engineering South design and manufacturing conference and expo, on June 14 to 16 in Charlotte, NC.

In addition to the traditional keynote addresses, technical sessions, and awards luncheon, ANTEC will feature more than 75 hours of on-demand coverage available after the in-person event. In keeping with the host city’s auto racing heritage, a special NASCAR reception will close the first day’s schedule at 5 p.m.

The keynote speakers for ANTEC will focus on workforce development topics:

  • James Emmett, founder and CEO of James Emmett & Co., will address “Why Employing People With Disabilities Is Good for Your Business.”

  • Allison Grealis, President of Women in Manufacturing, will discuss “Best Practices for Recruiting and Advancing Female Talent.”

  • Lloyd Martin, Senior Vice President of Manufacturing for CKS Packaging, will spotlight “The Overlooked Talent Pipeline — Second Chance Hiring.”

More than 65 ANTEC papers are scheduled for presentation, covering developments in topics ranging from additive manufacturing and advanced manufacturing techniques to bioplastics, sustainability, and recycling. Included among those talks will be presentations addressing:

  • Development of an agile, battlefield additive manufacturing plant for recycled PET.

  • Curing behavior simulation for robotic 3D printing of UV-curable thermoset polymers.

  • Shape-memory polymers based on castor oil and lignin sulphonate synthesized from waterborne dispersion.

  • Machine learning modeling to predict transient cavity pressure profile in injection molding process.

Amplifying those themes and many others, Plastec South will run concurrently with ANTEC as part of a package of six shows being launched as IM Engineering South, the Southeast’s largest plastics and polymers trade show, at the Charlotte Convention Center. The other co-located shows are Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M), Automation Technology Expo (ATX), Design & Manufacturing (D&M), SouthPack, and Powder & Bulk Solids.

This will be the first in-person ANTEC since 2019. The early registration rate of $499 is available through May 6. Register to attend at this link.
