Bringing It All Back Home: Arburg’s Allrounder 720 E Golden Electric Makes German Debut at Fakuma
The machine, which had its world premiere at NPE in May, will mold polypropylene razor covers on the show floor.

Arburg will showcase its new Allrounder 720 E Golden Electric unit in Germany for the first time at Fakuma from Oct. 15 to 19, as well as a two-component application demonstrating the company’s liquid silicone and thermoplastics capabilities.
The Allrounder 720 E, which made its world debut at NPE in Orlando, FL, in May, features 2,800 kN clamping force. Its space-saving design with width of about six feet makes it easier to install in existing production lines. A door opening of 55 inches makes the ejector area more accessible.

At Fakuma 2024, an Allrounder 720 E will be producing 24 polypropylene razor covers weighing 1.2 grams in 11.5 seconds. A Multilift V 30 robotic system and six-axis robots from Arburg will automate the demonstration machine.
Production on the 720 E is stabilized by features including:
Toggle-type clamping unit and direct drives from Arburg subsidiary AMKmotion.
Electric mold height adjustment system for installation heights up to 31.5 inches.
Plasticizing with the aXw Control ScrewPilot for reproducible injection and optimal part quality.
Optimized mold venting with two-stage mold locking.
Maintenance on the 720 E has been automated and simplified starting with the same easy-to-access control cabinet as on Arburg’s hybrid machines. A lubrication unit and optional pneumatic system are found on the operating side, and the parts chute in the machine base has been widened. The "Moldlife Sense" system monitors the mold’s complete life cycle, detecting deviations and displaying them on the machine controller. Built-in noise ID sensors monitor acoustic emissions for deviation from tolerances.
Allrounder More 2000

Also at the Arburg stand, a fully electric Allrounder More 2000 with a Yaskawa six-axis robot will create food-safe spatulas with a PBT handle and overmolded liquid silicone rubber (LSR) component. A small vertical injection unit with hot runner will create the food-grade handle, which will rotate from the upper to lower finishing station in a 1+1-cavity mold. A horizontal injection unit with servo-electric cold runner will overmold the non-tempered LSR part. A Gestica control system coordinates the process, with a cycle time of about 60 seconds.
Visit Arburg at Fakuma 2024 in hall A3 at stand 3101. Fakuma runs from Oct. 15 to 19 in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
