Ahe K101 clamping plate series has an integrated, permanently connected thermal insulating sheet, and is sized for mold dimensions from 196 by 196 mm to 396 by 496 mm. The thermal insulating sheet is protected between two steel plates in a sandwich technique. In applications with hot runners or heated mold tools, this type of clamping plate allows magnetic clamping techniques use in clean-room environments. Centering flanges without raised shoulders can be used, and additional machining of the mold and insulation sheet (threads and through holes) is no longer required. The pressure load is distributed evenly over the whole area. Partial overloading and the associated damage to the thermal insulating sheet is avoided.
