DME announces scholarship program, new mold monitor

DME Company, a manufacturer of mold technologies, announced that it is accepting applications for its DME Plastics University Scholarship Program through July 15 for the 2012 fall semester. The program offers $1000 scholarships to students enrolled in plastics manufacturing-related program in order to increase the number of highly-skilled workers in the plastics industry.

DME Company, a manufacturer of mold technologies, announced that it is accepting applications for its DME Plastics University Scholarship Program through July 15 for the 2012 fall semester. The program offers $1000 scholarships to students enrolled in plastics manufacturing-related program in order to increase the number of highly-skilled workers in the plastics industry.

To be eligible for a DME Student Scholarship, students must attend an accredited trade school/university offer a two-year certificate, two-year associate or four-year bachelor's degree in a plastics manufacturing-related field. Those enrolled in related coursework will be considered if they demonstrate a strong academic emphasis and interest in plastics. Scholarship applications are available online.

DME also announced plans to introduce its CVe Mold Monitor at amerimold (June 13-14; Novi, MI), a new mold maintenance tool its says brings greater flexibility in gathering and analyzing tooling information.

The CVe Monitor displays data on mold activity, including cycle time over the life of the tool and the last 25,000 cycles, percentage of activity versus downtime, downtime date ranges and increments where mold maintenance was performed.

Additional product features include:

  • 7-digit LCD display

  • Mini USB connectivity for data retrieval

  • Flash drive included for storage of prints, BOM, setup instructions, etc.

  • Glass-filled nylon housing for durability

  • Battery life of 5+ years

  • Small footprint as the mechanical cycle counter

Customers can view data in real time or download it via the integrated USB port to develop reports. As with the analog CounterView Mold Counter, the CVe Monitor can also synch with www.moldmonitor.com to store information on all molds in one place.
