Additives supplier to the plastics industry iD Additives Inc. (La Grange, IL) has introduced what it calls an environmentally friendly rust removal and prevention product for injection molds, blown film dies and other tooling.
Water-based iD Eco-Pro 360 has been EPA tested and is non-hazardous and non-flammable. The company will showcase this and other products in booth 4069 at PLASTEC West in Anaheim, CA, on Feb. 5 to 7.
Benefits of iD Eco-Pro 360 include:
- Removal of mill oil, flash rust and white rust without etching;
- application of a protective coating for long-term rust protection;
- compatibility with all ferrous and non-ferrous metal surfaces;
- cleaning, coating and sealing properties to prevent further oxidation;
- labor, time and cost savings.
The product is made in the USA and is reusable. Once rust particles have been filtered out, all of the cleaning fluid can be re-used numerous times.
“We are excited about this new product and the cost savings it will provide to molders and other processors,” said Nick Sotos, President of iD Additives. “Green products are the way of the future, and iD Eco-Pro 360 is not only green but also more effective than traditional rust removers. It’s a win-win.”
ID Eco-Pro 360 is available in one- and five-gallon containers and 55-gallon drums.
ID Additives offers a full line of foaming agents, UV stabilizer systems, purging compounds and additives. Custom products are also available. Coupling foaming agent technology with other additives and colorants allows the company to offer a cost-effective “one pellet solution.”
