Haitian's Zeres all-electric injection molders coming to North America

First seen at Chinaplas 2014 and, thus far, only available in China, the Zhafir Zeres series all-electric injection molders from Absolute Haitian (Worcester, MA) will be offered to the North American market starting this fall. Equipped with an integrated hydraulic accumulator, the machines open new possibilities for molders who prefer electric machines but need hydraulics to operate, for example, core pull, according to the equipment maker headquartered in Ningbo, China.

"The Zeres series makes it easier for processors to switch from hydraulic to electric machines," says Absolute Haitian Chief Engineer Mike Ortolano. "It is the optimal solution for molds with core pull and for molded parts where quality is the issue rather than shorter cycle times," he adds.

The new Zeres is available immediately in the United States and Canada in clamping forces of 45 to 259 U.S. tons. Larger model sizes will be introduced at a later date.

Structurally identical to the Venus II Series, the Zeres displays the advantages of all-electric injection-molding technology, according to Absolute Haitian: precision, energy efficiency, independent parallel movement throughout the cycle, and easy maintenance. Servo-electric drives for injection, mixing, and mold movement ensure a high level of dynamics. An integrated hydraulic accumulator with variable volume pump manages other functions.

The standard design has an injection performance of up to 200 mm/s in machines up to 430 tons (once available) and 160 mm/s in the higher clamping force categories. The ZE/h high-speed version with injection speeds up to 300 mm/s is available as an option.

The machine is equipped with the latest generation Sigmatek control system; flexible core pull sequences and a two-state mold protection function are included as standard features.

The Zeres series of machines will be shown at the Absolute Haitian booth at NPE2015.
