IMM molds plastic jars for cosmetics

The Index Dual system is offered for the production of thick-walled plastic cosmetics jars. For certain cosmetics applications, such as facial cream containers, the use of injection-molded plastic is better than glass. Plastic containers are lighter, stronger, and shatter-resistant. Plastics are easily customized and offer versatility in shape, size, color, surface finish, and resin.

The system provides short cycle times and high yield, productivity, reliability, and uptime; a smaller workcell footprint; automated in-mold part removal that eliminates the need for robots; and robust mold design with aggressive cooling. A 50-ml jar (6-mm wall thickness) with robot part removal is 25 to 30 seconds.
