Injection molding: Poly-Cast takes on Viking as partner in China

Injection molder Poly-Cast Inc. (Tigard, OR) has taken on fellow custom molder Viking Plastics (Corry, PA) as a 50/50 owner/operator partner of the business Poly-Cast opened in Jiang Su, China, called Poly-Cast Plastics (Suzhou) Co. Ltd. Terms were not revealed. The Chinese facility supplies the automotive and transportation markets with underhood systems and components.

In a statement, Dan Leedom, president of Poly-Cast Inc., said, “Our partnership with Viking Plastics is a win/win for us and our global customers who are launching products from both the U.S. and China. Our two companies provide support to different geographical locations and market segments. Merging our capabilities under one roof in China will allow us to grow the operation with a more aggressive, diversified approach.”
