Mold builders association announces new Tooling Trailblazer of the Year award

The American Mold Builders Association (AMBA; Indianapolis, IN), in sponsorship with Progressive Components (Wauconda, IL), has announced the new AMBA Tooling Trailblazer of the Year award. The award was established to recognize AMBA member accomplishments that have resulted in a notable impact in the area of education. The winning AMBA member company will receive a $5000 scholarship to be used in support of an educational institution or program of its choice.

According to Progressive Components President Glenn Starkey, “We wanted to sponsor an award that would support AMBA member companies in their educational outreach initiatives who are making significant strides in education and/or recruitment. Progressive Components is proud to sponsor such an important award that provides support to the future sustainability of the mold manufacturing industry.”

In addition to AMBA’s national scholarship awards to students in industry-related fields of study, AMBA will increase its financial support of educational outreach in a number of areas in 2017. From $5,000 scholarship grants to AMBA chapters to grants to AMBA Manufacturing Day Competition winners, the goal is to help AMBA members fill the skills gap and increase industry awareness through education.

Nominations also are being accepted for the AMBA Mold Builder of the Year award. Both winners will be announced at the AMBA 2017 Annual Conference, May 10 to 12, in Cleveland, OH. Deadline to submit a nomination for these two awards is March 31, 2017.
