Hot runner manufacturer Mold-Masters Limited (Georgetown, ON) has opened its first direct Mexican sales and service center in Toluca. About 44 miles east of Mexico City, Toluca will be home to a site that will support customers of Mold-Masters’ hot runner, temperature controller and iPET technologies in what the company describes as a “critical production region.” Support of the Mexican polyethylene terephthalate (PET) market, which Mold-Masters says is the largest in Latin America, will be a key aspect of the sales and service center’s business.

In addition to hot runner maintenance and repairs, the new site will fully support Mold-Masters’ PET business, including maintenance and refurbishments, as well as providing local spare parts inventory for all Mold-Masters products. Manfred Lausenhammer, VP sales iPET Systems, said in a release: “By opening a local service centre in Mexico, it shows that iPET is committed to its customers and the future of the Mexican market.”

In addition to sales representation in Argentina, Mold-Masters presence in Latin America extends to Brazil, where the company opened Mold-Masters do Brasil in Sao Paulo in 2001, with capability to manufacture Hot Halves, manifolds, controllers and various components. According to a 2008 report by market analyst, IBISWorld, the U.S. is the largest consumer market for bottled water, followed only by Mexico, China, and Brazil. In 2008, Americans drank 21 gallons of bottled water per capita per year. Mold-Masters now has manufacturing and sales support in 40 countries, with more than 900 employees globally.
