New CEO named at Mold-Masters
Hot runner manufacturer Mold-Masters has named William (Bill) Barker as its new chief executive officer, effective Dec. 6, 2010.

Hot runner manufacturer Mold-Masters has named William (Bill) Barker as its new chief executive officer, effective Dec. 6, 2010. Hamdi Conger, chairman of the company's board of directors, had been serving as interim CEO since mid-September when the company's longtime CEO, Jonathon Fischer, left the company. With Barker, Mold-Masters (Georgetown, ON) has hired an executive with more than 20 years of experience as a CEO/general manager at high-tech industrial manufacturing companies with a global footprint, most recently with packaging processor Rexam PLC and at automotive systems supplier Textron Inc.
"We are excited to have Bill join the Mold-Masters team", said Conger in a company press release. "Bill will add to the organization strong leadership and guidance and assist our strong global management team to achieve its objectives". Until leaving Rexam PLC in February 2009, Barker was Group Executive Director of Rexam's $6.5 billion global Beverage Can business and was on the Board of Directors of Rexam PLC from 2005-2009. He joined Rexam in 2001 from the Commercial Solutions Group (Chicago, IL) of Textron Fastening Systems, where he had been president. Prior to that he was president of OEA Automotive Safety Products (Denver, CO). His career includes lengthy spells living and working in both Europe and Asia.

In late Septmber the company announced its acquisition of PET components company partner, ABBA Systems, and created a new brand called MasterPET.
