You may not have heard of Edex Machinery Co. (Taipei), but the latest entrant to injection molding machine manufacture in Taiwan aims to make waves with its Atom Series micromolders.

NF_100306_Edex_sm.jpgClamping forces of 50, 100, 300, and 600 kN are available in the series, either four- or six-plunger-diameter options offered for each machine as part of the Interchangeable Plunger Injection System. "This flexibility enables injection volume to be varied, and parts of various sizes to be molded on the same machine," says international trade specialist Hedy Lo. "The smallest part size molded thus far weighed 8 mg."

The Atom Series is also equipped with a servomotor-drive hydraulic gear pump for  energy saving, and despite the small machine size, four cylinders are employed for clamping.—[email protected]
