Improved operating conditions are offered in the modular design of the SHP (Spring High Performance) nozzle due to a redesign and modifications. The spring package within the SHP is isolated from the melt stream and the function of the spring can be checked by operators from the exterior. The lower spring rate reduces the loading on the material since the system can be kept open with less force needed. Leakage removal is ensured by a larger cross section than in previous designs. It can handle injection pressure up to 3000 bar and an operating temperature of up to 400°C. Herzog AG Degersheim, Wolfertswil, Switzerland; +41 71 3941969; www.herzog-ag.com
