In June, Informa Markets – Engineering will launch IM Engineering South at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC. Taking place June 14 to 16, 2022, the all-new exhibition and conference will host Plastec, Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M), Automation Technology Expo (ATX), Design & Manufacturing (D&M), SouthPack, and Powder & Bulk Solids. The event will alternate with IM Engineering East in New York City, which has transitioned to a biennial schedule.

North Carolina is one of the nation's burgeoning advanced manufacturing hubs. It is the fifth largest manufacturing economy in the United States, contributing $107.1 billion to the state's GDP, according to a recent report from Governor Roy Cooper.

In addition to a robust biotechnology and life sciences sector, the Southeast also features a density of manufacturing operations in the aerospace, automotive, metal, forest products, logistics, and plastics sectors, reported Informa, which also publishes this website.

"We could not be more excited to announce the launch of our six co-located trade shows that will bring the full manufacturing and processing communities together in the Southeast," said Steve Everly, Group Event Director, IM Engineering South, Informa Markets – Engineering. "Our exhibitors have been wanting a comprehensive event in this key region to connect and build their customer base, and that need was the catalyst for the launch of IM Engineering South.”

The event will connect more than 4,000 buyers with upward of 350 suppliers to share insights and solutions spanning plastics, medtech, packaging, automation, design, and processing. The conference will feature more than 30 free, expert-led educational sessions on hot topics including 3D printing, medtech, packaging, and smart manufacturing.
