The Boy XS injection molding machine with a 100-kN clamping force and stroke volumes up to 8.0 cubic centimeters is suited for micro and single-cavity molding applications. The machine on display in booth 4128 will process liquid silicone rubber provided by Shin-Etsu with colorant from Kri-Color and tooling designed by Kipe Molds.
Designed for industrial continuous operation, the XS series presses represent a singular production philosophy, said Boy, which it describes as the use of flexible, efficient single-cavity molds in lieu of large, complex, and sensitive molds. The mold base frames remain fixed in the machine and the cassette inserts can be rapidly exchanged.
Specially designed machine components aligned with proven series technology allow the production of molded parts in very small shot weights.
