Satellite Controller Is For Gas-Assisted Injection Molding

pn-6.jpgThe NitroJection Satellite Unit (NSU) is designed for molders requiring multiple gas- assist controllers at several presses. PN- 5Unit is said to control the timing and pressure profiles of the nitrogen injection cycle. It does require a source of high-pressure nitrogen and the appropriate connections to the molding machines.

The NSU uses a fast-acting TESCOM ER3000 valve to regulate the nitrogen injection pressure during the seven stages of gas injection. It is said to be accurate to within 1% of set pressure, versus other valves that are 2 to 5% higher.

An Allen-Bradley SLC 503 controls the system and can store up to 30 recipe files. An Allen Bradley PanelView 900 allows for easy operator input and real time display graphs of the nitrogen pressure.

The NSU is available with one, two or four outlets to allow nitrogen injection into the machine nozzle or gas pins in the mold. The process is covered by more than 15 U.S. patents citing the injection of nitrogen through the machine nozzle or directly into the mold. No license is required. Price is under $35,000.
