The planned 18,000-sq-ft plant is expected to be fully operational in July 2014.This investment will generate about 50 new jobs. The company said that the new facility will have state-of-the-art equipment and technology to "serve the most demanding requests in today's silicone injection molding industry."

Silcotech North America, a manufacturer of silicone components, will invest $3.5 million in a new silicone injection molding facility located in York, SC. The planned 18,000-sq-ft plant is expected to be fully operational in July 2014.
This investment will generate about 50 new jobs. The company said that the new facility will have state-of-the-art equipment and technology to "serve the most demanding requests in today's silicone injection molding industry."
"We are excited about locating our new facility in York county," said Michael Maloney, president of Silcotech North America, in a news release. "South Carolina has the right mix of business-friendly climate, skilled workforce and market access we were looking for in establishing a new facility. We appreciate all the support we've received from state and local officials."
Ontario, Canada-based Silcotech produces specialized silicone components for a variety of industries including medical devices, automotive, consumer electronics and solar industries.
With the startup of Silcotech Carolina, the Silcotech Group adds another global location to expand its offerings in molding, two-component molding and micromolding of liquid silicone rubber. The company's latest clean room facility in York, together with its Canada and India operations, offers customers greater flexibility in covering their market demands.
"Silcotech is a world-wide pacesetter in liquid injection molding technology. We are indeed pleased they have selected York County for this significant project," York County Council Chairman Britt Blackwell said.
