Verstraete reveals Matte and UltraGloss in-mold labels at NPE2015

Orange peel, glossy and transparent have been the three primary label finishes used for in-mold label (IML) applications. However, Verstraete (Maldegem, Belgium) has developed many new and existing IML innovations, such as Metallic and Peelable IML.

At NPE2015 (booth S-36027), Verstraete will present its latest innovations: Matte IML and UltraGloss IML. Matte IML is a label that gives packaging a matte, natural look. With an UltraGloss label, the packaging gets a high-gloss finish, making the colors more intense.

Both of these innovations elevate the look and feel of a brand owner's packaging. And this is what brand owners are looking for—unique packaging that makes their product stand out on store shelves. Both Matte IML and UltraGloss IML give packaging a premium, high-end look; by combining them in one label style, details can be highlighted.

At NPE2015, Verstraete's labels will be used in demonstration products at six booths.

Machine producer Arburg has collaborated with Yudo and StackTeck to present a lid with a double-sided IML. The cycle time is only 4.2 seconds and the product has a wall thickness of 0.4 mm. See this machine in action at Booth W-3729.

Ilsemann Automation has joined forces with Italian machine producer BMB and StackTeck to present a round container with a metallic IML. See how beautiful a label can be in booth W-991.

Also in the West Hall, booth #1363, at the Niigata booth, you can discover drinking cups with Verstraete's Matte IML and UltraGloss IML. Competella was the selected partner to make this project successful.

Taiwanese automation supplier Wetec will show two projects at NPE. The first is a 200-ml yogurt container with wrap-around and bottom labels. The partners for this project are machine producer FCS and mold producer mo Chyi (W-303). The second project, a rectangular 200-ml tub, is decorated with a five-sided label. Discover this product at the booth of Borche in S-21073.

Lastly, Waldorf will present a 3D full-cover IML project. The wrap-around and bottom IML covers the complete tub. Take a look at these unique products at the booth of Flextronics in the South Hall, #34125.

Then visit Verstraete IML, booth S-36027, to get to know all the technical details about these six systems and how Verstraete labels can bring a great look to your products.
