Innovative unit helps replace manual cutovers

The cross-cut turret winder is intended for extruded heavy-gauge sheet in thickness of 175?2000 µm and widths from 500?2400 mm. It has a maximum operating speed of 120 mpm. It offers processors the ability to wind material with a maximum roll diameter of 1500 mm on core sizes ranging from 75?305 mm. This fully automated continuous winding unit has PLC control of critical winding functions. A servo-driven cross-cut knife produces an exact, clean cut. The design of the unit removes the operator from hazardous and back-breaking processes such as manually cutting thick sheet and attaching it to a new core. Options include automated coring as well as shaft and roll handling. Parkinson Technologies Inc., Woonsocket, RI, U.S.A.; +1 401-762-2100; www.parkinsontechnologies.com
