A new system from Watlow (St. Louis, MO) trademarked the EZ-Zone ST puts discrete temperature control, power control, safety shutdown, and power disconnect components together in a single, compact package supplied by a single supplier. The unit features a PID temperature control already connected to a high-amperage, solid-state relay (adding a properly sized heat sink is optional); current measurement; an over/under temperature limit; a definite-purpose mechanical contactor; and digital communications. Users also have the option of adding a remote user interface for even more user-friendliness.
Reduced panel size is another plus. And EZ-Zone also reduces termination complexities, which reduces installation costs while increasing system reliability. Both modular and scalable, you only have to pay for what you need. And the EZ-Zone ST can be stacked into multiple configurations, giving you the flexibility to standardize on the product?s platform to solve a wide range of application needs. Additional features include back panel or DIN rail mounting, a touch-safe package, ±.1% temperature accuracy, and a three-year warranty.?CK
