Biodegradable polymers were a big topic at the last interpack in 2005, so much so that this year the event will include its own bioplastics show-within-a-show.
A special Bioplastics in Packaging exhibit has been added to the upcoming interpack trade show (April 24-28, 2008 in Düsseldorf, Germany), with show organizers saying it will be the largest bioplastics exhibition to date. Plastic suppliers BASF, DuPont Packaging and Nature Works are just some of the firms who have reserved space in this sold-out expo within an expo.
The Bioplastics in Packaging exhibit at interpack is supported by the Association of European Bioplastics (www.european-bioplastics.org), and it will include the entire product chain to include suppliers of bioplastics and additives, and plastics processors. The showcase will feature all material classes (synthetic material/biodegradable, materials based on renewable primary products/biodegradable, and materials based on renewable primary products/non-biodegradable).
For more information on the exhibit, go to www.interpack.com. An ancillary program including discussions of current industry issues will round out the showcase.
