Niigata's foray into compounding extruders may realize innovative results. |
The unit was developed jointly with the Nanotechnology Research Institute at Japan's National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). Six extruders have already been delivered to resin suppliers in Japan. The batch process units for development purposes achieve outputs of up to 4 kg of compound per hour. As an indication of what can be achieved, Niigata has demonstrated that transparent blends of polycarbonate and acrylic are possible.-[email protected]
