By shifting the locking and clamp-force build-up elements into the moving half of the clamp, a new machine line has improved access to the fixed platen and the nozzle areas. Replacing the large-tonnage MC Series of injection molding machine, the MX line from Krauss-Maffei also offers a modular design to allow shops greater machine optimization on the basis of each particular application's needs.
Primarily used for large-area parts found in automotive components, the MX line of two-platen machines offers energy-optimized drive systems and a specially designed monolithic, moving platen for the uniform transfer of clamping force onto the mold, while maintaining parallelism. Large sliding shoes are used to guide the moving platen through mold open and close. Fully customizable, K-M offers a range of mold-fixing platens and injection-unit and pump-system variations.
