New Jersey officials allege that Solvay has ignored a mandate to rid the local environment of PFAS compounds and other pollutants used at its West Deptford plant. Solvay bought the plant from Arkema in 1990.
The notice did not mention recent reports calling Loop Industries’ advanced recycling technology a "fiction" as a reason for the termination, but it certainly didn’t inspire Coca-Cola’s confidence in the project.
“By designating plastics as ‘toxic,’ the Canadian government is recklessly making policy that could have significant negative impacts on human health,” said Plastics Industry Association President and CEO Tony Radoszewski.
