Adhesives supplier Panacol Elosol GmbH (Steinbach, Germany), a Honle Group company, will feature its new low-viscosity and transparent adhesive for plastic, glass and metal compounds at the Compamed trade show in Düsseldorf, Germany, next month. Vitralit UV 4050 LV, which is suitable for automated assembly operations, adheres to most plastics, including PC, PVC, PS, ABS and SAN, as well as metals and glass.
The material achieves excellent bonding as long as one one of the joined materials is transparent, according to the company. The adhesive is being tested according to USP Class VI and DIN ISO 10993-4/-5 standards for use in medical applications.
Vitralit UV 4050 LV cures in seconds when exposed to UV-A or visible light. The company adds that gas discharge lamps or LEDs can be used for curing. High-intensity gallium-doped gas discharge lamps are reported to achieve excellent curing results.
Compamed is co-located with Medica, the largest medical technology trade show in the world. The events are held at Messe Düsseldorf from Nov. 16 to 19, 2015.
