Intended for situations where more than one regrind is required or for hard-to-meter materials, the CGA Series gravimetric batch-blending systems feature precision auguring of all ingredients. Capable of blending up to four components at a rate of 100 lb/hr (45 kg/hr), the CGA has Optimixer technology for a more homogenous blend. Larger models can handle six materials, with a throughput of 400 lb/hr (180 kg/hr), with the biggest taking on up to eight components at a blending rate of 3000 lb/hr (1360 kg/hr).

The units offer offset cantilever load cells, cast-aluminum feed auger assemblies, and a robust industrial design. A Mitsubishi PLC-based control has a touch-screen interface with three recipe modes-percentage, where ingredients are measured as a percentage of the batch; quick start, where color and additives are metered as a percentage of the virgin material; and parts, which is a ratio of the recipe entry.

Safety interlocks shut off power and air supply if the blender door is open, and a drain tube below each housing makes for easier material changes. Colortronic Inc., Flint, MI, USA; +1 810-720-7300; www.colortronicna.com
