Italian Polymer Additives Supplier Sets Up Shop in Florida
The Orlando-based subsidiary of Sabo will supply a full range of hindered amine light stabilizers and other additives to downstream compounders and plastic converters.

Italy-based polymer additives supplier Sabo announced this week the establishment of a subsidiary in Orlando, FL. Sabo International Americas joins the company’s three other locations in Europe and Asia, further reinforcing its global presence and role in the polymer additives market, the company said in a press release distributed on Sept. 4.
Earlier acquisition added production sites in Germany, China
The opening of a US subsidiary follows the privately owned Bergamo-based company’s acquisition of the TAA and derivatives business from Evonik in 2022, puzzle pieces all in the 85-year-old firm’s internationalization strategy. That acquisition included production sites in Marl, Germany, and Liaoyang, China, focused on the raw materials used in the manufacture of hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) that protect plastics from photodegradation. The additives enable outdoor use of plastic products and have applications in automotive components, agricultural films, building materials, and consumer goods.
The US subsidiary will supply a full range of HALS, anti-fog, and antistatic additives to compounders and plastic converters, including USDA-certified BioPreferred grades, a quality mark that, said Sabo, attests to its commitment to sustainability.
Sabo’s longstanding partner Songwon Industrial will continue to distribute HALS to North American polymer manufacturers.
Leadership team
To better serve customers in North America, Sabo's Florida team is led by Sabo Group Senior Vice President, Business, Alberto Vischetti, who adds chief operating officer duties of the Orlando facility to his responsibilities. He will also be in charge of a distribution center in Savannah, GA, for products imported from Italy, Germany, and Mexico.
“After more than 15 years of steady growth, a new development phase has arrived,” said Germano Peverelli, Sabo CEO and chairman of the board. It lays a foundation for the “new global expansion targets and the consolidation of business relationships that focus on fast and effective technical and commercial service,” he added.
