Materials selection and database alliance

DMP_IDES_phone.gifMaterials database developer IDES and Resinate, vendor of automated materials management software Resinate Material Advisor (RMA), are teaming up in a strategic alliance that will make the IDES database available within RMA.

RMA is offered as an integrated solution for plastic material selection for the following CAD platforms: Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, and Pro/E. According to Resinate president Brian Schiebel, the software offers a set of intuitive material selection tools that narrow down selection results. Comparison data is also made available to double-check choices and selections. Material data is stored within the 3-D CAD model and can be exported to downstream analysis tools such as Ansys, Mechanica, and Cosmos. Market pricing information supplied by RMA is also used to run cost analysis and cost estimating components within the application.

Benefits to RMA users include a materials increase from 14,000 to 45,000 grades; ISO and Campus viewing options; added multipoint, nonlinear data for FEA; sourcing options for multiple quotes; and a stand-alone option for allowing all involved in the product development process to search, view, and export material data.

Current users of RMA now have access to the comprehensive IDES database through an automated Internet connection that ensures current data. RMA is available at a starting price of $1295.
