Engel has added Comet Plastics Equipment as a representative agency to work with Regional Sales Manager Rafael Izaguirre. Izaguirre's territory includes the southern U.S. Engel also added territories to rep agencies ABC Lemke Plastics Machinery LLC and Adams Engineers & Plastics. Comet Plastics Equipment was founded in 1982 by plastics industry veteran Tom Rajkovich. The manufacturer and supplier of auxiliary equipment will be the representative agency for Engel equipment in the state of Florida. Rajkovich has worked in the plastics industry since 1968, beginning his career as a member of the inside sales team for an injection molding machine manufacturer before starting the representative agency Gem City Plastics (Ohio) in 1974. Tom is also a long time member of the Society of the Plastics Industry and has been active on several of their committees. Additional changes to Engel's sales support in the Southern U.S. include: ABC Lemke Plastics Machinery LLC will cover both North and South Carolina, as well as the state of Virginia; and Adams Engineers & Equipment will add the state of Georgia to its territory, which currently includes Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi. and Tennessee.

PolyOne Corp. has hired Michael A. Garratt as Sr. VP, president of Performance Products and Solutions. Garratt replaces industry veteran, Robert M. Rosenau, who has decided to retire after a 37-year career. Garratt joins PolyOne from Marmon Utility, a Berkshire Hathaway company, with more than 20 years of experience in the specialty polymer sector. Prior to joining Marmon, where he served as president, Garratt was the chief operating officer of Excel Polymers. Garratt's chemical career began with The Dow Chemical Company, where he served in commercial and marketing roles in Canada and the U.S. For 10 years, he worked for DuPont Dow Elastomers, a global joint venture, where he held market development and product management positions, culminating in a regional commercial leadership role for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, while based in Geneva, Switzerland and Bad Homburg, Germany.

Peter Schkoda, general manager of Corvaglia Closures Eschlikon AG, has left the company. The company's board of directors and management stated in a release that they regret his departure and thank him for his commitment and contribution. In the interim, board member Franco Bischof will manage operational matters at the Eschlikon site. Overall responsibility for the global closure business and the two production sites in Mexico and Eschlikon has been transferred to Bernardo Osés, who has been General Manager of Corvaglia Closures S.A. de C.V. in Mexico since 2003.

Laser marking and engraving equipment supplier FOBA has named Shawn Hyatt as its Canadian Regional Sales Manager. Hyatt previously held sales positions at Telesis and Technifor, with 15 years in laser marking systems. FOBA said Hyatt has served a variety of end markets including automotive, electronics, semiconductor, medical, , and moldmaking, in addition to various general metal and non-metal manufacturing sectors.

The Composites Group has reorganized its senior management, promoting Hector Diaz-Stringel to vice president of manufacturing operations, while Dwight Morgan has joined the company as vice president of sales and marketing. In addition, company veteran Marc Imbrogno was promoted to the newly created position of corporate director, market/product development. CEO Terry Morgan said in a release that realignment was necessary to maximize potential from the three business units that form The Composites Group, which was created in 2010 through the combination of Premix Inc., Hadlock Plastics, and Quantum Composites. A native of Mexico, Diaz-Stringel has spent most of his career in the chemicals industry, serving in engineering, sales and marketing, and operational roles, including time as president and general manager of Rhein Chemie. He left Rhein Chemie in 2011 to become vice president of sales and marketing for Chemical Associates, before joining The Composites Group as corporate director of manufacturing operations in 2012. Morgan began his career in plastics with M. A. Hanna Company, a
predecessor to PolyOne, where he held a succession of corporate development and general management roles. In 1998, he left Hanna to form Accel Color Corp., a producer of custom formulated color and additive systems that grew to four facilities and $20 million in annual revenue. When Accel Color was sold to Techmer PM LLC in 2008, Morgan continued to run the company as a wholly owned subsidiary and a member of Techmer's senior management team. Imbrogno has been employed with Premix for more than 14 years, during which time he has held various commercial positions, including account management, market management, sales management and business development. He began his career as a research & development chemist at Glastic, before signing on with BASF, where he held polymer product development and business development positions.

MonoSol LLC, a division of Kuraray, has hired Christian Herrmanns as its director of marketing and business development. Herrmanns has experience in new business development, product innovation, and strategic marketing from several multinational companies, having studied and worked in Germany, Switzerland, the U.S., and China. MonoSol develops specialty water-soluble polymer-based films.
